Scharnberg Park, near Spencer and Everly, Iowa is a 45 acre park that hosts a 15 acre pond which includes a handicap accessible fishing pier.

The Clay County Conservation Board would like to thank you for visiting our Scharnberg Park website! Scharnberg Park is a 45 acre park that hosts a 15 acre pond which includes a handicap accessible fishing pier. Main species of fish include: Bass, Bluegill and Channel Catfish. For the non-fisherman, the park also has a swimming beach which is perfect for sunbathing, swimming or even building sand castles.

Scharnberg Park also sports a campground with 63 individual sites each of which include: rural water, 20-30-60 amp breakers, cable TV with HBO and wireless internet. All of these amenities are included in the camping fee. Electrical sites are $20.00 per night and electrical with sewer are $25.00, unless you purchase a coupon book. The coupon books are $120 for the electrical sites and $150 for the electrical with sewer sites.

Campers may pitch one tent per registered electrical site along with their camper.


Concessions and firewood are available. We also have a shower house with single and family style shower rooms.

3 Beautiful cabins are available to make your stay memorable and comfortable.

As of May 1st 2018, the Clay County Conservation Board members have elected to conduct a price increase on the three cabin rentals, one shelter rental, and primitive (tent) camping sites.
(Please note the other campsites will stay at the same price
of $20.00 and $25.00 dollars).

The Scharnberg Park rental fee changes are as follows:
Maple Cabin - $ 100.00 / night
Pine Cabin - $ 125.00 / night
Oak Cabin - $150.00 / night

Park Shelter - $ 75.00 / day or $ 115.00 / two consecutive days

Primitive (tent) Camp sites - $10.00 / night
